Best way to unlock all skills and PvP items
As far as I know, unlocking all the skills so that your heroes can use it and for PvP is as crucial as learning how to walk in real life..
With that said is the best way to just do random arenas until I get all of them? Seems like it would take years... There must be an easier way! Sorry for the noob post its just that it has been so long since I have touched the game. |

PvE.
1) you'll re-learn the game mechanics 2) as you make money you can build up a character to use in PvP without unlocking the items 3) as you go along you will unlock items and skills soooo basically find a build you like for ra. And make that class...play it a bit see how every thing works. As you play you will be able to buy the skills and the armor upgrades you need. Then, PvP on your PvE char until you have the faction to start unlocking stuff. |

Another route of course if you have some cash...is to buy Flames of Balthazar, which are relatively cheap.
I bought another pvp only account and I had everything unlocked in a couple of days. I did a combo of actual pvp battles and cash...it goes fast! Power unlock ftw! Of course some skills and items are entirely useless and should NOT be unlocked until last...don't waste your efforts and resources. There are 3 ways you can do this.
1: Play PvE and develop your own characters. Buying/capping a skill will automaticly unlock it for heroes. Skills you will want to unlock also have use on your own character (win-win for both). By just playing PvE on diffrent professions and buying skills you'll have decent heroes in no time. Identify the gold drops you get along the way to unlock armor and weapon mods for PvP charachters. I personally recommend doing this. 2:Play PvP and use Balth faction to unlock stuff. If you like PvP, go for it. But then dont unlock a skill because it's good on your Dunkoro. first unlock stuff that makes you more effective in PvP. 3:Buy an unlock pack. But since 70% of the skills in GW are barely used, I say this is wasting your hard earned $$ |

Low lvl pvp like jq and ab can earn you faction. Have a main pve which earns some cash and skill points and got the option to change to any secondary.
As Perpetua says, dont waste effort unlocking all at once. Just have this ready so you can unlock when you find you need a new skill for a new build. Then you can go to skill trainer and unlock with the pve char or spend faction to unlock what isnt easily available. |

You shouldn't aim to unlock all the skills immediately.
Peruse hero skill trainers first, then get the first 20 skills that you know will be used. After the first 20 skills form the skill trainer, it costs 1 platinum per skill. Play PvE with established skills that have withstood the test of time. Protective Spirit, Word of Healing, Dwayna's Kiss, Aegis are some examples of skills that have been used for since the beginning of Guild Wars. You need enough faction (1mil+) to get all 1000+ skills which is more or less Rank 3 Zaishen. Might as well just buy PvP unlock pack or do low end PvP (Alliance Battles) for only skills you will use. Flames of Balthazar cost ~2K at the moment so it's fairly expensive if you go this route. If you don't have a choice and need to unlock Conviction for your Dervish, for example, which first unlocks at Gate of Torment you might opt for this. EDIT: Good luck unlocking a superior vigor in PvE. I unlocked this through Balthazar faction. |

1) PvE, getting skills via quests (prophecies required; initial quests of nightfall and factions), buying them, using signet of captureon bosses
2) buying skill unlock packs 3) balthazar faction Personally, I acquired legendary skill hunter on my main PvE character to get all elite skills unlocked, I bought a geat number of skills also (all of my primary profession + some secondary skills that could be useful somehow). Other than that, farm zaishen elite every single day, easly 5k balth faction and 5 normal skills unlocked per day |

Buying it is the best way, not the most economical way but the best way.
